This drawing comes from a trip made with a couple of friends of mine, Tim Stevenson, a renowned watercolorists from Florence, Alabama and Jerry Foster a wonderful photographer and art teacher at Florence High School. We traveled up to Ethridge, Tennessee to the Amish community and came upon one of the farm houses. I seem to be drawn to old sheds and doorways as subject matter and this old out-building, with the textures and shadows, called to be drawn. I really like the abstract nature of the composition and the weathered wood with all its texture. It was a fun drawing to do.Prints are available of the drawing as well as note cards.
